The Flying Aces M.C. has two classes of membership: Active I and Active II. An application for membership must be made by the interested individual in person at the club. All applicants must be sponsored by at least one Active I member, and the application approved by a vote of Active I members at a regular meeting.
Active I Membership
Active I members are voting members and have access to the club at any time. Applicants for Active I membership must be sponsored by at least two current Active I members and serve a probationary period of one year before their application will be voted on by the other Active I members. Applicants for Active I membership must have been an Active II member for at least one year prior to their application for Active I probation. There are additional requirements during the probationary year Active II Membership
Active II members do not have voting privileges and can only use the club during posted hours and during events.
Applicants for Active II membership must be sponsored by at least one current Active I member. ACTIVE II MEMBERS CANNOT SPONSOR OTHERS FOR ACTIVE II MEMBERSHIP! If your application for Active II membership is signed by another Active II member as a sponsor, it will not be accepted.
New applications for Active II membership will be submitted to the voting members at the next regular meeting. Applicant’s names are then posted at the club for a period of two weeks following that meeting. If no objections to having the person as an Active II member are raised, the application will be voted on at the next regular meeting. Processing Your Active II Memberships
You should allow at least six weeks for your new application to be received, read, posted, voted on, and if approved, membership card prepared and mailed. If your application is not accepted by the voting members, your dues will be returned by mail. If an application is incomplete, but has a valid mailing address, it will be returned to you by mail for corrections. Common problems with Active II applications include:
Missing Date of Birth - Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) rules require we have your date of birth to verify you are age 21 or older. Please show your complete date of birth. Entries such as "Over 21" are not acceptable.
Incomplete Mailing Address - All Active II membership cards are processed by U.S. Mail. A missing or incomplete mailing address will mean your card cannot be sent to you if approved, or a refund of dues sent if application is rejected.
No Valid Sponsor Signature - As noted above, your application must be sponsored by a current Active I member to be accepted.
Missing Applicant Signature - Your signature affirms the information you provided is true and correct as required by PLCB.
Since all application cards are filled out by hand, it is important that you make sure the information you provide is legible. If the membership secretary cannot read the information on the card, particularly the mailing address, we will not be able to process the application or return it for corrections. In this case, the dues for the applicant we cannot identify are forfeit to the club. (Thanks for the donation!)
